About Bethany Care Foundation
At Bethany Care Foundation, we connect generous donors with meaningful ways to support the people who live and work in Bethany communities.
All of us are aging — but that doesn’t mean we stop living!
How Your Donation to the Foundation Helps
Innovation in Care
With your help, Bethany continues to lead through innovation, advancing care models and integrating technology that enhances person-centred care. Tools like PainChek® use AI to identify pain through subtle facial cues, helping caregivers support residents’ physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing, even when words aren’t possible.
Meaningful Daily Programming
Programs like music and art therapy and spiritual care are more than just activities — they’re lifelines. These daily programs nourish the emotional, social, and spiritual well-being of residents, honouring their unique identities and helping them express themselves in ways that matter. Many residents say these moments are the highlight of their day.
Creating Home
Donor generosity helps create warm, welcoming spaces where residents can gather, celebrate, and relax. From cozy furnishings to essential care equipment like lifts, specialized bathtubs, and linen warmers, your support helps ensure that every resident feels safe, supported, and at home across Bethany Care homes in Alberta.
Scholarships &
Bursaries
Donor-supported scholarships and bursaries invest in the next generation of care and community professionals. These awards reduce financial barriers, recognize leadership and achievement, and support students pursuing education in health care, leadership, and community services—including children of Bethany employees.
There are many ways to give.
Your support helps ensure we can create caring communities where people can thrive as they age. Join us in making the lives of our residents even better.
The Next Bethany Calgary
The next Bethany Calgary is a once-in-a-generation redevelopment that will transform continuing care in Calgary’s inner city. Opening in 2027, this purpose-built care home offers 420 rooms, each with a private room and ensuite for seniors and adults with disabilities, each with a private room and ensuite bathroom.
Care will be delivered through a small-home model within a vertical footprint, with residents living in 14-room households designed to feel familiar, personal, and life-affirming — not institutional.
With a significant investment from the Government of Alberta, Bethany Care Foundation has launched The Next Chapter — a $20 million capital campaign to help bring this vision to life. Donor support will help create the shared spaces, gardens, enrichment areas, and innovative features that turn a building into a true home.
