Privacy Policy

Bethany Privacy Statement

Bethany Care Society (BCS) is committed to the confidentiality and privacy of individuals’ personal and health information. We collect, use, and disclose information in compliance with applicable Alberta access and privacy legislation, including the Health Information Act (HIA), the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA).

Alberta’s public sector privacy legislation has recently been updated. Effective June 11, 2025, the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (FOIP) was replaced by two new statutes: the Protection of Privacy Act (POPA) and the Access to Information Act (ATIA). We are completing a review and updating of our privacy policies to reflect these changes.

Bethany supports the right of individuals, or their authorized representatives, to access and request corrections to their personal and health information, subject to applicable legislative restrictions.
