Undergraduate Nursing Employees (UNE)
Registered nurse (RN) or licensed practical nurse (LPN) students who have completed a minimum of 450 hours of clinical practice are eligible to work as a UNE. Click here for opportunities.

Post-secondary student opportunities

Bethany has a variety of post-secondary student opportunities available.

Nursing students working as Health Care Aides (RN and LPN students)
Nursing students who have completed Year 1 of a practical nursing program or Year 2 of a baccalaureate program are eligible to work as a HCA.

Eligibility/Requirements

Nursing students who are enrolled in an approved Alberta nursing program and who have successfully completed a minimum of 100 hours of practicum; and are either in their 1st year of practical nursing (LPN); or 2nd year of baccalaureate nursing or psychiatric nursing program will be considered without enrolment in the HCA Directory. Canada Summer Jobs
Canada Summer Jobs (CSJ) is a program under the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy, which aims to provide flexible and holistic services to help young Canadians (15 to 30 years of age) develop the skills and gain paid work experience to successfully transition into the labour market.

The CSJ program objectives align with the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy and are as follows:

  1. provide quality work experiences for youth
  2. respond to national and local priorities to improve access to the labour market for youth who face unique barriers
  3. provide opportunities for youth to develop and improve their skills
